Aircraft Spirals Wildly into Palm Trees at Popular California Shoreline
A helicopter flying near a popular California beach abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as beachgoers observed.
Footage posted on the internet show the aircraft commencing to spiral near the shoreline then plunging in the direction of the border of the coast, where it becomes wedged amidst palm trees and a staircase near the coastal road.
Emergency Response Information
Local firefighters reported five people were transported to a medical facility including a pair who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the accident on that day.
Three people on the pavement were harmed. Information on their injuries were not yet released.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.
